Last Updated: January 2, 2026
This Sales Tax Policy explains how Vander Haag’s LLC (“Vander Haag’s,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles sales and use tax for purchases made through our website and other sales channels.
Our business address is:
Vander Haag’s LLC
4936 Sharp St
Dallas, TX 75247, USA
Sales and use tax is collected and administered in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local tax laws.
1. Texas Sales Tax
Texas imposes a state sales and use tax on many retail sales, leases, and rentals of taxable tangible personal property.
The applicable tax rate may include the Texas state rate as well as applicable local taxes.
The tax rate applicable to a transaction depends on factors such as the type of transaction, the product purchased, the delivery or pickup location, and applicable Texas tax rules.
2. When Sales Tax Is Collected
Vander Haag’s collects sales tax when required by applicable law.
For purchases delivered or picked up in Texas, the applicable tax is determined based on the transaction and location in accordance with Texas tax requirements.
For purchases delivered outside Texas, tax treatment may depend on the laws of the destination jurisdiction and whether Vander Haag’s is required to collect tax there.
3. Tax Calculation
When applicable, sales tax will generally be calculated based on information associated with the transaction, which may include:
Shipping or delivery address
Pickup location
Product purchased
Applicable tax rules
Customer exemption status
Other transaction-specific information
The applicable tax amount will be displayed before the customer completes an online purchase when the website’s checkout system is able to calculate the tax automatically.
For transactions completed by invoice, telephone, or another offline method, the applicable tax may be calculated and included on the invoice or payment documentation.
If transaction details change, the applicable tax may also change.
4. Taxable Products and Charges
Many products sold by Vander Haag’s may be subject to sales or use tax, including:
Trailers
Shipping containers
Heavy equipment
Parts
Accessories
Other tangible personal property
The taxability of a particular product, service, delivery charge, or other transaction component depends on applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.
5. Tax-Exempt Purchases
Certain customers or transactions may qualify for sales-tax exemption under applicable law.
Examples may include qualifying:
Resale purchases
Government entities
Nonprofit organizations
Other organizations or transactions eligible for exemption under applicable law
Customers claiming an exemption may be required to provide valid exemption or resale documentation before the transaction is finalized.
Vander Haag’s may request additional documentation when necessary to verify an exemption.
If valid exemption documentation is not provided when required, applicable sales tax may be charged.
6. Resale Certificates and Exemption Documentation
Customers purchasing products for resale or claiming another applicable exemption are responsible for providing appropriate documentation.
Documentation must be complete, accurate, and applicable to the transaction.
We may decline an exemption when documentation is incomplete, invalid, expired, or does not support the claimed exemption.
7. Purchases Shipped Outside Texas
For orders shipped outside Texas, Vander Haag’s will determine whether sales tax or another applicable transaction tax must be collected based on applicable law.
Tax may be collected at checkout when required.
If Vander Haag’s does not collect a tax that is legally due in the destination jurisdiction, the customer may have an obligation to report and pay use tax or another applicable tax directly to the appropriate taxing authority.
Tax requirements vary by jurisdiction.
8. Shipping and Other Charges
Depending on the applicable tax rules and the structure of a transaction, shipping, delivery, freight, handling, installation, or other charges may be taxable.
When required by law, applicable tax will be calculated on taxable charges.
9. Returns, Refunds, and Tax Adjustments
If a taxable purchase is returned and a refund is issued in accordance with our Return & Refund Policy, applicable sales tax associated with the refunded portion of the purchase will generally be refunded as required by law.
If only part of an order is refunded or the purchase price is adjusted, the associated tax may also be adjusted.
The amount of any tax refund is subject to applicable tax laws and the circumstances of the transaction.
10. Tax Rates and Laws May Change
Sales and use tax rates, exemptions, and requirements may change as laws and regulations are updated.
The tax applicable to a transaction is based on the laws and rates in effect for that transaction.
If a tax calculation changes because of updated laws, rates, delivery information, or other transaction details, the amount charged may be adjusted accordingly.
11. Tax Records
Vander Haag’s may retain transaction records, invoices, exemption documentation, and other information as necessary to meet applicable tax, accounting, legal, and business requirements.
