Return & Refund Policy

At Vanderhaags LLC, we strive to ensure customer satisfaction with every purchase. Because we sell shipping containers, trailers, heavy equipment, and related products, please review this policy carefully before placing an order.


Return Eligibility

We accept returns under the conditions below.

✅ Eligible for Return

Items may be returned if:

  • The item was damaged in transit

  • The item was defective

  • The wrong item was shipped

  • The item is unused, unmodified, and in original condition

  • The return is requested within 30 days of delivery

❌ Non-Returnable Items

Due to the nature of our products, the following are not eligible for return:

  • Used containers or trailers

  • Custom-built or modified equipment

  • Items sold “as-is” or clearance

  • Products damaged due to customer handling after delivery

  • Freight orders where delivery was accepted without damage notation


Important Note for Containers & Trailers

Most containers and trailers are heavy freight items. Customers must:

  • Inspect the unit at delivery

  • Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt

  • Report any issues within 7 days of delivery

Failure to report freight damage within this timeframe may affect claim eligibility.


Return Window

  • Return requests must be submitted within 30 days after delivery

  • Damage or defect claims must be reported within 7 days of delivery


How to Request a Return

To initiate a return:

  1. Email sales@vanderhaagsllc.com

  2. Include:

    • Order number

    • Clear photos of the product

    • Reason for return

    • Delivery receipt (for freight items)

Do not return any item without authorization.

If approved, we will provide return instructions.


Restocking Fees

If a return is approved for reasons other than our error:

  • A restocking fee of up to 20% may apply

  • Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable

  • Customer is responsible for return freight costs

No restocking fee will be charged for:

  • Verified damaged items

  • Incorrect items shipped by us


Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect the returned item:

  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Processing time: 14–21 business days

  • Banks or card issuers may take additional time to post the refund


Order Cancellations

  • Orders may be canceled before shipment

  • Once a container, trailer, or equipment item has shipped, it cannot be canceled

  • Custom or special-order items cannot be canceled once processing begins


Refused Deliveries

If a customer refuses delivery without an approved return:

  • Customer is responsible for round-trip freight costs

  • Restocking fees may apply


Exchanges

Due to the logistics of heavy equipment, we generally do not offer direct exchanges.

If you need a different item:

  1. Request a return (if eligible)

  2. Place a new order


Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged or defective:

  • Contact us within 7 days of delivery

  • Provide clear photos

  • Keep all packaging

We will work to resolve the issue with a replacement, repair, or refund when applicable.
